With over a quarter-century of experience in the building materials industry, Joe Koken leads the Arizona branch of RbA with the balance of business accruement and humanity that Esler Companies prides itself on. Over the course of his career, Joe has consistently led teams to exceed business goals, increase market share and grow profitability.
Joe spent the bulk of his career—over three decades—working in both regional and national capacities at the Andersen Window Corporation, where he held a number of sales, sales leadership and executive leadership positions. In early 2017, Joe joined the Esler Companies leadership team as General Manager of RbA Phoenix. He was drawn to the culture that the company has fostered, and was impressed by the leadership style, business prowess, and amiability of John and Matt Esler.
In his time at RbA, Joe has proven his ability to create well-reasoned strategies that drive results. Esler Companies values the kind of keen, nuanced insights that Joe brings to the table. He is skilled in sales management, strategic development/execution, organizational structure, leadership development, coaching and mentoring. As a leader, he believes in the importance of listening, seeking mutual understanding and inclusion.
Joe graduated from Youngstown State University with a BSBA, majoring in business administration with a minor in marketing management. He also played football while attending the university—and even played for the D1AA national championship his junior year.
Born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio, Joe is an avid fan of Cleveland sports teams. He spends his free time engaging in a wide range of physical activities and sports, and coached youth baseball, football, and basketball for fifteen years. He and his wife Kathie proudly have three children, Carlene, Matt, and Kyle.
