Middletown, Connecticut, July 2024 — Esler teammates from our Southern New England office joined Operation Homefront’s “Back to School Brigade,” a nationwide initiative aimed at easing the back-to-school transition for military families. Volunteers packed over 50 backpacks with essential school supplies such as notebooks, pens, pencils, rulers, and more, which were donated to children with at least one parent deployed overseas.
The Back-to-School Brigade has provided over 550,000 military children with free school supplies and backpacks since its inception. This program is vital for military families facing financial challenges, ensuring their children are well-prepared for the new school year.
Operation Homefront’s mission is to offer relief and continuous support to military families. Impressively, 83% of their expenditures go directly to programs benefiting tens of thousands of military families annually.
“These children sacrifice so much without realizing it. Our hope is that this brings a little joy to them and relieves a little stress from their parents during the craziness of back to school,” said Lou Martino, Production Manager.
Dennis Edgeworth, Senior Production Manager, added, “Giving back to families that have given so much to our country is humbling. I am so happy to be part of this important event.”
