Saco, ME, September 2024 — Renewal by Andersen of Southern Maine and New Hampshire proudly continued its commitment to community outreach through our Renewal Cares Window of Giving program. A $5,000 donation to Habitat for Humanity is helping to fund the construction of a new home in Saco, Maine. The build will provide much-needed affordable housing for a local family.
Eden Gendron, Service Manager, highlighted the natural connection between the two organizations. “The partnership between Habitat for Humanity and Renewal by Andersen is a perfect fit. We both believe in creating spaces that families can cherish and enjoy, and it’s incredibly rewarding to be a part of that mission.”
Alongside the financial contribution, teammates rolled up their sleeves to volunteer at the Kennebunk ReStore, Habitat for Humanity’s retail outlet. The ReStore is a vital part of Habitat’s mission, with all sales supporting local affordable housing projects. Beyond helping in-store, the team also supported Habitat’s “Aging in Place” program, which offers free home safety checks, minor repairs, and accessibility modifications for elderly and disabled homeowners.
For Alex Romanoff, one of our Project Consultants, the time spent at the ReStore was particularly fulfilling. “It’s inspiring to contribute to a mission that strengthens communities, and it’s been eye-opening to see just how much impact even the smallest acts of service can have.”
Reflecting on the experience, Edward Williams, a Warehouse Associate, said, “There’s nothing quite like giving back in the morning—it leaves you feeling accomplished before it’s even noon!”
