October 2024 — On October 11th, Esler Companies teammates volunteered at
The Giving Factory in Philadelphia, marking the start of a new partnership with
Cradles to Crayons through the Renewal Cares Window of Giving program.
Cradles to Crayons provides essential items—like shoes and coats—for
children from birth through age 12. These items, collected through community
drives, are processed by volunteers at their warehouse, The Giving Factory.
The volunteer experience at The Giving Factory is both personal and
impactful. Each volunteer shift involves hands-on processing of donated
children’s items. Esler teammates inspected, sorted, and packaged donated
clothing, which will be distributed to local children living in poverty.
“This was our first time volunteering with Cradles to Crayons, and we plan to
continue yearly—at least! Their cause is incredible, and their employees are
extremely passionate,” said Jessica Snyder, Philly’s Sales Support Coordinator.
Childhood poverty is a critical issue, particularly in Philadelphia, which has the
highest poverty rate among the nation’s ten largest cities. Cradles to
Crayons addresses a key aspect of this challenge—clothing insecurity.
Without adequate clothing, children face barriers to education, play, and
participation in daily life, making it difficult for them to succeed.
